We are happy to administer medications to your pet during their stay. However, pets often behave differently in a boarding environment than they do at home. To ensure your pet’s safety and well-being, please review our policies below.

Administration & Fees

  • Cooperative Pets: Pills, ear drops, and eye drops are administered at no additional charge.
  • Complex Care: Bandage changes or intensive daily maintenance for chronic conditions may require an extra fee. Please contact us to discuss your pet’s needs.
  • Uncooperative Pets: Additional fees may apply if manual coercion is required.
  • Out-of-Hours Care: An extra charge of £5 per day applies if medications must be given outside our standard hours.

Timing & Scheduling

  • Standard Hours: Medications are administered daily between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • Out-of-Hours: If your pet strictly requires medication outside of these hours, please contact us prior to booking to see if we can accommodate your schedule.

Medical Limitations

  • Injections & Diabetes: We cannot administer any injections. Consequently, we are unable to board diabetic pets.
  • Senior Care: Pets on multiple medications or requiring extra attention may benefit from staying in a home boarding environment.

Preparation & Food Enticements

  • Separate Packaging: Please do not mix medications into pre-portioned bags of food. We must administer them individually to guarantee they are consumed.
  • Enticements: If your pet is difficult to medicate, we will use safe enticing methods. However, owners must provide their own specialty items (such as hot dogs, cheese, or pill pockets).

Staff & Pet Safety.

  • Safety First: We will never jeopardize staff safety to force medication compliance.
  • Alternative Boarding: If your pet’s health depends heavily on medication, and they are aggressive, shy, or highly skittish, we strongly advise boarding them at a veterinary clinic to guarantee they receive their medical care safely.

For any questions regarding your pet's health needs, please call our office at 01344 424144 before making a reservation.
